How to make a Dragon Kite

These kites are made of art crepe paper, available at most craft stores. One sheet of crepe paper will make 2 kites.  The kites are flown by running about, holding the kite in the air as the kite fills with air like a windsock!

1.      Fold paper in half lengthwise and cut out dragon. The bottom of the dragon is the fold.

Shape the pipecleaners around the mouth. You will need 1 1/2 pipecleaners for each side of the mouth.

Glue the pipecleaners for the mouth. Use lots of glue!

Cover the mouth with strips of crepe paper.

Great!

Wait for the mouth to dry.

Put glue all around the edges of the dragon.

Fold it up.

Glue, draw, or tape eyes. Don't use too much glue, or it will soak through and your dragon will not fill with air properly.

Glue or tape feet.

Twist and trim the ends of the pipecleaners together. Tie ribbon with bell to bottom lip.

Open the mouth by adjusting the pipecleaners.

Tape or glue the fire in the mouth.

All set!
